Ursuline College Athletics

Shannon Sword is the winningest coach in UC Basketball history with a career record of 142-162. Sword led the Arrows to their first Great Midwest Athletic Conference title in 2015-2016 with their 25-4 season. She also coached Ursuline in two NCAA tournament appearances. The NCAA title berth in 2015-16 was the first-ever for a program at Ursuline.

Sword was named G-MAC Coach of the Year two years in a row for her 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. She has coached sixteen G-MAC All-Conference athletes throughout her career, including one All-American athlete.

Over the years, Shannon has fostered an environment for academic success in her program. During her 11-year tenure, the student-athletes have consistently held between a 3.3-3.8 team GPA. In 2021, the basketball team had the second highest GPA in all of NCAA Division II basketball.
