Marybeth Chordas was a member of the inaugural volleyball team in 2000 and played for three seasons. As a member of the Ursuline Arrows, Chordas made a great impact in the middle, defensively, and in the program’s history.
In 2001, the team’s first season in the American Mideast Conference (AMC), Chordas was an All-AMC Honorable Mention, ranking third in the conference with 1.63 blocks per game (147 total); and 15th in hitting percentage (.297), as she totaled 215 kills. Eligible for awards only in her final two seasons while Ursuline transitioned into the AMC and the NAIA, Chordas didn’t receive the honors her statistics should have earned her.
As a senior serving as Team Captain, Chordas followed up her successful first season in the AMC, with an All-AMC Second Team selection, leading the conference with 2.07 blocks per game (188 total) and standing 12th with 3.25 kills per game (296 total).
At the time of her induction, she ranked as Ursuline College volleyball’s all-time leader in blocks.
Chordas graduated prior to the spring semester of 2004 with a degree in Education. In 2003, she was voted as a member of the Who’s Who in American Colleges.
