Karasek was the first-ever lacrosse coach and started the program at Ursuline College and led the team to the 2016 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Regular Season & Tournament Championship and also the 2017 Regular Season Championship and appearance in the tournament championship game. During the 2016 season, Ursuline swept the G-MAC postseason honors by winning the Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year awards for their performance in the conference that season. Karasek was named the G-MAC Coach of the Year in 2016 for the second time in his time at Ursuline. His teams excelled in the classroom with 10 lacrosse players earning All-Conference Academic honors for having a 3.3 or higher GPA. In 2017, his players also earned Defensive Player of the Year honors and Freshman of the Year by the conference. He passed away last year after a long battle with cancer.
