The Ursuline College Track & Field team finished up the regular season with strong performances at the Penn State Tune-Up and the CWRU Ed Finnigan Greater Cleveland Colleges Meet on Friday evening. The meets had two school records and multiple top five performances in program history.
At Penn State,
A'Zaria Thomas had a standout performance, breaking her own school record in the mile with a time of 4:59.93 to place fourth overall. She becomes the first UC athlete to break the five-minute barrier, marking a significant milestone in program history. Thomas entered UC with a high school personal best of 5:41.08 in the 1600m, showing her development throughout her collegiate career.
Savahnna Gyasi-Nimako also set a new school record to win the meet, improving her triple jump mark to 11.99m. Her performance moves her up to 23rd in NCAA Division II. Additionally, Gyasi-Nimako recorded a personal best in the long jump with 5.64m to win the event, improving her second all-time mark in school history.
Katie Lane also showed a strong performance, running a personal best of 5:14.50 in the mile to place 12th overall and improve her fourth all-time mark in program history.
Dayahana Douglas had an impressive showing in the 60m, finishing fourth with a time of 7.77.
At Case Western,
Jasmine Jamison had a huge personal best in the weight throw, reaching 13.76m to place sixth and move into fifth all-time in school history. Jamison placed 3rd overall in the shot put with 10.85m. In additional field events,
Claryssa Panayotti placed ninth with a mark of 13.06m and,Â
Delaney Maclay threw 12.52m in the weight throw to finish 13th.Â
Mya Knight placed third in the long jump with a mark of 5.03m.
Autumn Burgess ran 8.24 in the 60m to finish fourth overall, while
Davinia Mireles-Sanchez placed third in the 400m with a time of 63.54.
Karrington Green placed fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.62. In the middle-distance events,Â
Emma Esteves ran 5:28.13 in the mile to secure sixth place, whileÂ
Jocelyn Dornbirer finished ninth in the 1000m, crossing the line in 3:13.53.
The Arrows turn their focus to the upcoming G-MAC Championships on February 28- March 1st at Ashland University, where they will look to build on their momentum and continue their strong performances.Â
