The Ursuline College Women's Track & Field Team traveled to Case Western Reserve University to compete in the 4th Annual Ed Finnegan Greater Cleveland Meet. The Arrows rested a few athletes as they prepare for the upcoming Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Jocelyn Dornbirer won the 800m with a time of 2:16.52 (converted to 2:14.97 from a banked/oversized track to flat track). Dornbirer moved to 3rd all-time in UC program history in the event while setting a new personal best.
Phebe Elliott placed 2nd overall in the 800m behind her teammate with a time of 2:27.91 (converted to 2:26.23), also a personal best.
Kayla Kephart finished 4th overall in a time of 2:28.87 (converted to 2:27.18).
Aubrey Harris-Welchans placed 6th overall in 2:34.67 (converted to 2:32.91), with both athletes recording personal bests in the event.
In the hurdles,
Aaliyah Banks placed 2nd overall in the 60m hurdles final with a time of 9.73, while teammate
Delaney Maclay placed 6th overall in 12.55, a personal best. Angelys Caballero placed 5th overall in the 400m with a time of 1:04.54 (converted to 1:03.70).
Gisele Cabrera placed 5th overall in the 1000m with a time of 3:36.05 (converted to 3:33.12).
Hannah Pearson placed 7th overall in the 3000m, running a personal best of 12:48.08 (converted to 12:41.56).
In the field events,
Malicca Brown led the way with a 3rd place finish in the long jump, recording a jump of 5.01m.
Selena Ertell-Easley placed 5th overall with a jump of 4.81m to set a new personal best.
Xyia West had a strong night with two personal best performances placing 4th overall in the shot put with a throw of 10.82m and 12th overall in the weight throw with a mark of 11.96m.
The Arrows close out the regular season and now turn their focus to the upcoming G-MAC Championships on February 27–28, hosted at Ashland University.
