Follow Ursuline Athletics on Facebook Ashland Alumni Open ResultsASHLAND, Ohio – One week after claiming the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference title in school history, the Ursuline College track and field team shattered two more school records at Saturday's (April 26) Ashland University Alumni Open.
Sophomore Nicole Burlinson placed second in the field of 32 in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:39.59 to establish a new Ursuline top time. She already had the school record with a 4:46.10.
Sophomore Bea Indurain came in third out of 24 runners in the 100 meter hurdles and was the second collegiate to finish when she crossed the finish line in 14.76. Indurain previously held the UC school record with a 14.77 set last April. Senior Fontaine McCaulley (16.94) also ran her best time of the season.
Other highlights included junior Rachel Cole taking sixth in the 400 meter dash with her best time of the season (1:01.02) and freshman Alexandria DeVaughn placing eighth in the 200 meter dash with a new personal best time of 26.27.
In the field events, freshman Sarah Rosso improved her top high jump to 1.40 meters and junior Brooke Trauthwein, a newcomer to the team, was measured at 22.41 meters in the javelin one week after throwing it 19.48.
The Arrows are scheduled to compete again on Friday (May 2) at the
Ohio University Open. That meet is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
