Sophomore Keyana Roberts broke her own school record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.97, improving from the 25.39 she ran last Saturday at Oberlin College. She also tied for ninth in the field of 32 student-athletes in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.34, just shy of her school record time of 12.28.
In the 100 meter dash, freshman Alexandria DeVaughn ran a 13.02, a huge improvement from her previous top time of 14.16.
Sophomore Bea Indurain placed eighth of 17 competitors in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.78. She already owns the Ursuline school record with a 14.77. Her classmate Jasmine Lett was clocked at 15.21, the third best time ever turned in by an Arrow.
In the 400 meter hurdles, freshman Chelsea Rice ran a 1:08.79, much better than her 1:11.44 last Saturday at Oberlin and good for third all-time on the school record list. Junior Madgie Dunn also showed improvement, lowering her time from 1:16.07 down to 1:14.11.
The 4x400 meter relay quartet of Lett, DeVaughn, Roberts and Indurain ran a 3:58.87 which was good for eighth place on Saturday and the best time by an Ursuline group all season.
In the throwing events, freshman Ali Mowrey set a new personal best with a toss of 11.57 meters in the shot put, putting her in the top-five in program history. She also showed improvement in the discus when she was measured at 28.85 meters, up from 26.17 at California University's (Pa.) Early Bird Invitational on March 22nd.
Also of note, sophomore Nicole Burlinson ran a 2:12.06 in the 800 at George Mason University's Spring Invitational. That placed her 12th in the field of 68 and would've won the 800 at the All-Ohio Invitational after a runner from Division I Miami University (Ohio) took the title wit a time of 2:12.30.
Saturday's meet was the final tune-up before the
Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships are held next Saturday (April 19) at Cedarville University.
