Wooster Invitational Results

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Ursuline College track and field team fought Mother Nature at Saturday's (March 29) College of Wooster Invitational but still came away with a strong showing at the first team outdoor meet of the season.

Originally, the College of Wooster Invitational was supposed to be scored, but it was cut short due to the weather (rainy and mid-30s that turned into snow) so thus it was un-scored.

The Arrows showed their depth in the 800 meter run when the first three student-athletes to cross the finish line were all the pride of Ursuline. Junior Rachel Cole won the event in 2:44.38, just ahead of junior Madgie Dunn (2:45.67), while sophomore Diona Roberts (2:53.89) placed third.

Ursuline also had two of the top three 4x100 relay teams. Freshman Aminah Bercheni paired with sophomores Jasmine Lett and Bea Indurain as well as junior Keyana Roberts to win the race in 50.59 while freshman Chelsea Rice, Cole, senior Fontaine McCaulley and freshman Alexis DeVaughn teamed together to place third with a time of 52.29.

Keyana Roberts took second in the 100 meter dash (12.31) and Bercheni (13.83) came in fifth.

Freshman thrower Ali Mowrey took sixth in the hammer throw with a heave of 33.44 meters, the fourth best toss in program history. She also took fifth in the shot put after she was measured at 10.63 meters, an improvement from last week's 10.28.

The Arrows will compete again next Saturday (April 5) at Oberlin College's Bob Kahn Invitational.
