Keyana Roberts Stands Out at Cal U's Early Bird Invitational

Early Bird Invitational Results

CALIFORNIA, Pa. – A few members of the Ursuline College track and field team got a jump start on the outdoor season at Saturday's (March 22) Early Bird Invitational, hosted by California University of Pennsylvania.

Junior Keyana Roberts had a standout performance. She was the first of 32 participants to finish the 200 meter dash with her school record time of 25.48. Additionally, she took second of 24 student-athletes in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.58, tying junior Brianna Woods for the second best time in program history.

Sophomore Bea Indurain ran a 1:02.97 in her first 400 meter dash, a time that was good for third in the field of 14. Junior Madgie Dunn (not Rachel Cole as listed in results) covered her first 800 of the season in 2:37.35.

Junior Tori Berg and freshman Ali Mowrey took third and fourth, respectively, in the shot put field that consisted of 16 participants. Berg was measured at 10.39 meters, just ahead of Mowrey's 10.28.

In the discus, Berg went over 86 feet (26.33 meters) and Mowrey cleared 26.17 meters.

As a team, the Arrows are scheduled to compete at Saturday's (March 29) Wooster Invitational. Field events will start at 11:00 a.m. and races are slated to start at 1:00 p.m.
