KSU Tune-Up Results
Â
KENT, Ohio – Two more school records fell at Saturday's (Feb. 22) Kent State University Tune-Up, running the total to seven new top performances already this indoor season.
In the 60 meter dash, junior Keyana Roberts set a new school record with a time of 7.97 seconds to finish 10th in the field of 60 student-athletes. Freshman Aminah Bercheni, who already had a share of the Ursuline record with an 8.10 earlier this season, ran an 8.04 on Saturday to give her the second best time in school history. Sophomore Bea Indurain ran an 8.14 which was 0.08 seconds better than her best time ever in the event and her classmate Jasmine Lett (8.28) also ran well.
Roberts later ran the 200 in 26.18, the second best time in program history.
Indurain racked up another record when she ran the 300 hurdles in 46.67 seconds, improving her own school record that was previously a 48.01. Indurain's 9.00 in the 60 meter hurdles also qualified her for the finals where she placed fifth.
Freshman Chelsea Rice turned in a time of 48.77 in the 300 hurdles, the second best time ever by an Arrow in that event.
The 4x400 relay quartet of Indurain, Roberts, sophomore Nicole Burlinson and freshman Alexis DeVaughn ran a 4:05.63, the fourth best time in school history.
Freshman thrower Ali Mowrey had the best day of her young career. Her 11.26 meter toss in the weight throw was 0.26 meters further than her previous best. She was also measured at 11.80 meters in the weight throw, a huge improvement from her 11.08 meter throw at SPIRE two weeks ago.
Next Friday (Feb. 28), the Arrows are scheduled to compete for the final time before the NCAA Indoor Nationals at the 'Last Chance Meet' hosted by
Denison University.
That meet will be covered with free live results, available
