FINDLAY, Ohio – The Ursuline College track and field team competed for the first time this year at Friday's (Jan. 17) Northwest Ohio Invitational, hosted by the University of Findlay.
Sophomore Nicole Burlinson broke the school record in the 3,000 meter run. She turned in a 10:18.21 in a very crowded field of 27 participants and was forced to zig and zag to the finish.
Jessica Dingman previously held the school record with a 10:31.36 set in 2009. Burlinson now owns nine individual indoor school records. She also took second in the 500 with a 1:17.17, just off her own school record of 1:17.00. On Friday, that time was good for second place behind Steph Tinney's 1:16.14. Tinney was running unattached.
Sophomore Bea Indurain took seventh in the long jump when she was measured at 4.85 meters. That was the fourth best distance in program history. Indurain added another top-10 finish in the 60 meter hurdles where she placed 10th with a 9.48.
The Arrows will compete again next Saturday (Jan. 25) at the
SPIRE Institute's North Coast Open. Field and track events will both begin at 10:00 a.m.
