The Ursuline Basketball team volunteered with Warehouse of Hope, helping support Friends of Recovery NE Ohio. In their final week of classes, the student-athletes gave back to their community to round out the school year.

The Warehouse of Hope, located about 20 minutes from Ursuline at 35500 Lakeland Blvd. in Eastlake, Ohio, is a thrift store that sells everything except clothing. Items are priced significantly below market value to create an inviting and hopeful shopping experience for those in need. The organization is funded entirely through private donations from individuals, churches, and other faith-based partners. All proceeds support Friends of Recovery NE Ohio—a faith-based organization that provides housing and support for individuals recovering from addiction. They house men, women, and even have a separate home for women with children.
Â
The UC Basketball team helped by stocking shelves, cleaning and pricing items, and moving furniture and other items around the store. The owners were incredibly kind and even had pizza and snacks for us during lunch!

Junior,
Ajia Schreffler, reflected on the day: "This was such a great experience for everyone involved, and we were grateful for the opportunity to support a local organization that gives so generously back to the community. I spoke with all of my teammates who participated, and they all said they loved the experience and would gladly work with the organization again in the future."
