47 Student-Athletes Receive Academic Achievement Award From D2

Complete Release & Award Winners 

Ursuline College had 47 student-athletes who earned the Academic Achievement Award from the Division II Athletic Director Association that was announced on Thursday.
 
In total, there were 15,215 Division II student-athletes from 200 institutions recognized for the 2019-20 Academic Achievement Awards. This was the highest number of honorees in the 13-year history of the program.
 
 The Great Midwest had a total of 527 student-athletes receive Academic Achievement Awards.
 
In order for a student-athlete to receive an Academic Achievement Award, the athletics director of the Division II institution must be a current dues-paying member of D2 ADA.
 
The student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale and have attended the institution a minimum of two years (four semesters) and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.
 
Earlier this summer, a record 88 student-athletes were named to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference All-Academic Team which is nearly two-thirds of the total student-athletes on campus for having a 3.3 cumulative grade point average during their careers at Ursuline.
