The Orange Community Education and Recreation held its annual Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Ursuline student-athletes took time out of their busy schedules to attend the event and give back to their communities.
The Orange Community Education and Recreation (OCER), located just 8 minutes from Ursuline at 32000 Chagrin Boulevard, focuses on providing access to exercise for people of all ages. They have scholarships for people with different financial troubles so everyone has access to recreation to boost energy, moods, and overall wellness. The OCER also has adaptive recreation so people with restrictions can still enjoy socializing and being healthy. There mission is "To build and engage our community through the development and delivery of excellent learning, discovery, and active recreational experiences for all".
Ursuline student-athletes from the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) volunteered to hand out candy and play games. The athletes introduced their sports to over 1,300 kids and adults in the community.
Senior softball player, Casey Barton reflected on the day: "It was super fun too give back to our community and see all of the kid's smiling and having fun with it. It was super rewarding for me to be able to make an impact in the local communities and to show them different sports and to get them excited about being active".
