PEPPER PIKE, Ohio - Adam Katz has been named the new Head Swimming and Diving Coach at Ursuline College, the athletic department announced. Katz was previously the head coach at Gilmour Academy, a position he held since 1999.
While Katz was leading the Lancers program, his teams achieved eight top-20 finishes at the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Meet, including two top-five finishes with the girls’ team.
Now he comes to Ursuline looking to find similar success.
“I’m very excited for the opportunity to work with such a young and talented team,” Katz said. “It’s always been a goal of mine to coach at the collegiate level and I’m happy it will be at Ursuline as the school transitions into Division II.”
After winning a state title as a high schooler at Hawken, Katz swam at Indiana University before transferring to The Ohio State University. He graduated in 1997 and later earned his Master’s Degree in education from John Carroll University.
He got into coaching with the Lake Erie Silver Dolphins in 1997 and was there until he took a position with the North Coast Swim Team in 1999.
Katz resides in Pepper Pike with his two daughters.
