Freshman point guard Erica Huber has been named the ‘Buffalo Wild Wings Athlete of the Month’ for her performance in January. The Arrows went 4-3 in the first month of 2014 and the Anna High School graduate led the team with 18.4 points per game to go with 6.3 assists and 4.7 boards per game.
While playing almost 37 minutes per night, Huber did much of her damage at the free throw line as she hit 61 of her 74 (82.4 percent) free throw attempts in January. Defensively, she averaged 2.6 steals per game over her last seven contests.
Huber finished 2013 with one 20-point game to her name but has reached that milestone in four of UC’s last five outings. She scored a career-high 24 points on Jan. 16 to help the Arrows earn a huge conference road win at Ohio Valley and two days later, she had 22 points and a career-high 13 assists, tying the UC single game mark, as Ursuline defeated Salem International.
For her efforts, she was named the conference’s ‘Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week’ on Jan. 20. She also won the award on Nov. 11, 2013.
