The Ursuline College Women's Track & Field team was back in action this weekend at the College of Wooster, placing 7th overall as a team with a total of 40 points on the day.
On the track,
Jocelyn Dornbirer led the way with a strong 2nd place finish in the 800m, crossing in 2:18.80. She also opened the meet with a 4th place finish in the 1500m with a time of 4:48.21, totaling 13 points on the day across the two events.
In the field events,
Kayla Kephart recorded a collegiate outdoor best in the high jump, placing 2nd overall with a clearance of 1.58m. The mark moves her into 4th all-time in UC program history and earned 8 points for the Arrows. Teammate
Madison Sands also scored in the event, placing 7th overall to add 2 points. Sands continued her impressive day in the javelin, placing 4th overall with a huge personal best of 35.34m. The throw moves her into 2nd all-time in program history and added 5 more points for Ursuline.
Eljoenai Wehl placed 6th overall in the 400m with a time of 59.63 to earn 3 points. In the 800m,
Dominique Weisz and
Katie Lane placed 7th and 8th, combining for 3 points with times of 2:26.98 and 2:27.05, respectively.
Malicca Brown added 2 points with a 7th place finish in the long jump (5.00m), while
Aaliyah Banks placed 8th overall in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.74 to earn 1 point.
Additional personal best performances on the day included
Xyia West, who placed 13th in the shot put with a throw of 11.08m, and
Davinia Mireles-Sanchez, who recorded a big personal best in the 800m with a time of 2:30.13 to place 15th overall.
