Golf Opens Up Spring Season in South Carolina

The women's golf team traveled to Pawley's Island in South Carolina for a two-day golf tournament on March 9th and 10th. The team placed 11th out of 11 teams with a total of 744 strokes. During the first 18 holes, the team had 369 strokes (+81 over par) and in the second round they had 375 strokes (+87 over par).  

Zaria Hampton finished first for the Arrows, tying for 34th place out of 63 golfers. Hampton shot a total of 169 strokes (+25 over par). She was consistent throughout with an 84 in the first round and a 85 in the second round. Richtier Hanslkie tied for 50th place with a total of 180 strokes (+36 over par), shooting an 87 in the first 18 holes and a 93 in the second 18 holes. Meghan Zann tied for 54th place with a total of 185 strokes (+41 over par), shooting 93 and 92 for each round, respectively. Alayna Smith rounded out the Arrows with an overall score of 210 stroke (+66 over par), tying for 61st place overall. Smith shot 104 in the first round and 106 in the second round.  

The Arrows will compete next on March 16th at the University of Findlay Spring Invitational. The tournament will take place at the Boone's Trace National Golf Club (Richmond, KY).
