The Ursuline College Women's Track & Field team had a busy weekend, traveling to Kent State University for the Jud Logan Memorial Invitational on Friday and John Carroll University for the Leo Miller/Hayden Snow Meet of Champions on Saturday.
At Kent State on Friday, the Arrows recorded several top-10 performances.
Savahnna Gyasi-Nimako continued her success from a week ago in the triple jump, placing 6th overall with a jump of 11.28m.
Angelys Caballero-Higgins placed 6th overall in the 800m with a new personal best time of 2:28.09.
Phebe Elliott placed 7th overall in the 400m dash with a season-best time of 1:01.57.
Jocelyn Dornbirer placed 7th overall in the mile run with a time of 5:15.02.
Kayla Kephart placed 8th overall in the high jump with a season-best jump of 1.53m.
Eljoenai Wehl placed 9th overall in the 200m dash with a collegiate-best time of 25.65.
At JCU on Saturday,
KeYonna McGill led the way with a win in the 60m dash, posting a time of 7.85. McGill was also part of the 4x200m relay team alongside
Eljoenai Wehl,
Aaliyah Banks, and
Selena Ertell-Easley, which won with a time of 1:46.14, setting a new school record.
Eljoenai Wehl placed 2nd overall in the 400m with a time of 1:00.41, while
Jocelyn Dornbirer placed 5th with a time of 1:02.34.
Phebe Elliott placed 3rd overall in the 200m with a time of 27.62.
The distance medley relay team of
Katie Lane,
Phebe Elliott,
Jocelyn Dornbirer, and
Dominique Weisz placed 2nd overall with a time of 13:03.98. The 4x400m relay team of
Kennedy Outland,
Dominique Weisz,
Angelys Caballero-Higgins, and Davinia Mireles placed 3rd overall with a time of 4:18.89.
In the field events, the Arrows had three athletes qualify for the long jump finals. Gyasi-Nimako placed 4th overall with a jump of 5.29m,
Malicca Brown placed 6th overall with a jump of 4.92m, and
Madison Sands placed 9th overall with a jump of 4.72m.
Kayla Kephart placed 5th in the high jump with a jump of 1.46m and also placed 6th in the 800m with a time of 2:31.64.
Other notable performances included
Aaliyah Banks and
Madison Sands qualifying for the finals in the 60m hurdles, placing 4th and 8th overall, respectively.
Gisele Cabrera had a solid performance in the 5,000m run, finishing in a time of 21:06.37, just three seconds off her personal best.
The Arrows will have a week off from competition before returning to action at the Ashland University Jud Logan Light Giver on February 6–7.
