The Ursuline College Track & Field team competed at three meets this past weekend, February 14-15. The throwers competed at the Baldwin Wallace's Mid-February Meet, the jumpers and sprinters at Kent State's Doug Raymond Invitational, and the distance runners at Grand Valley State University's Big Saturday Meet.
At Baldwin Wallace,
Claryssa Panayotti led the way with a 7th-place finish in the weight throw, recording a mark of 13.06m.
Jasmine Jamison followed closely with a throw of 12.59m to place 10th, while
Delaney Maclay placed 11th with a season-best throw of 12.40m.
Maggie Furst had a personal best of 10.69m. In the shot put, Furst placed 8th with another personal best of 10.17m, while Maclay threw a personal best of 9.26m.
At Kent State,
Savahnna Gyasi-Nimako placed 8th in the long jump with a mark of 5.26m.
Mya Knight jumped 5.15m to place 14th, breaking back over the 5m barrier, and teammate
Malicca Brown followed with a personal-best jump of 5.15m to place 15th.
Dayahana Douglas just missed the finals in the 60m dash but finished 9th overall with a time of 7.84.
Kennedy Outland had a personal best in the 400m, running 62.56.
At Grand Valley,
Emma Esteves had a season-best performance in the 3000m, running 10:31.55 to place 14th. The Distance Medley Relay team of
Alaysia Brooks,
Breanna Banks,
Jocelyn Dornbirer, and
A'Zaria Thomas hit the NCAA provisional mark with a time of 11:56.43, currently ranking 25th in the country.
Katie Lane closed out the weekend with an indoor personal best in the 800m, running 2:20.53 to place 13th.
The Arrows will return to competition this Friday to close out the regular season at the Penn State Tune-Up and Case Western's Ed Finnigan Greater Cleveland Colleges Invite.
