The Ursuline College Cross Country Teams competed at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble open races to close out the regular season and tune up for the G-MAC Championships next weekend. The women raced first at 12:00pm in the women's 6k open race and placed 3rd overall out of 8 teams, scoring 76 points and receiving a 3rd-place team plaque on the day. The Arrows were led by
Dominique Weisz, placing 8th overall out of 103 runners in a time of 25:23, and a few spots right behind her was
Jocelyn Dornbirer running a time of 25:35 in the 6k race. Other Arrows with strong performances included
Kayla Kephart placing 22nd in a time of 26:28,
Gisele Cabrera in 37th overall with a new personal best time of 27:30, and
Angelys Caballero-Higgins placing 45th in a time of 27:50 to round out the top 5 scorers on the day.
On the men's side, the Arrows placed 7th overall in the men's open 8k race out of 17 teams. The Arrows had two top-10 performances on the day in a field of 171 runners.
Austin Sneed led the Arrows with an impressive 6th-place finish with a personal best time of 27:13, and not too far behind him was teammate
Thelonius Lucien, placing 8th overall in a personal best time of 27:25 in the 8k race.
Ryan Jeanneret placed 35th overall in a time of 28:35,
Arjun Patel had a strong race with a new personal best of 28:51 and placed 41st overall, and
Micah Earnest had a personal best of 31:15 along with teammate
Tyler Krese in 33:26 to close out the scorers on the day for the Arrows.
The Arrows will transition to the championship segment of their season this upcoming weekend at the G-MAC Championships hosted by Northwood University, where the women's championship race will be at 10:30am and the men's championship race will be at 11:30am.
