On Friday night, the Ursuline College Cross Country Team competed in the Tiffelberg XC Open women's 5,000m race at the Paradiso Athletics Complex Course in Tiffin, Ohio, achieving a second-place tie with Ashland University among nine teams.
The team boasted three award winners, including
A'Zaria Thomas, who set a new school record with a time of 18:44,
Alaysia Brooks, who secured the second-fastest time in program history with 18:58, and
Emma Esteves, who finished in 19:05.
Freshman
Katie Lane made a notable collegiate debut, placing 19th overall and moving into seventh place in program history with a time of 19:55.
Jocelyn Dornbirer and
Dominique Weisz also achieved top 10 finishes, securing seventh and ninth places, respectively, in program history with times of 20:12 and 20:20.
Kayla Kephart and
Emma Smith achieved personal bests in the 5k cross country race with times of 20:54 and 20:58. The team will next compete on September 20th at the All-Ohio Collegiate Challenge 6k race hosted by Cedarville University.
