The Ursuline College Cross Country Team concluded a standout season with a historic performance at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships, held in Romeoville, IL and hosted by Lewis University. Competing against top teams in the region, the Arrows placed 21st out of 31 teams, achieving the highest NCAA Midwest finish in program history.
A'Zaria Thomas capped off an outstanding collegiate career by leading the Arrows with a 68th place finish, her best-ever at NCAA Midwest Regionals, clocking a time of 23:10. Thomas leaves her mark on the program as the school record holder in the 5k and ranks second all-time in the 6k.
Emma Esteves closed her cross-country career in 97th place with a season-best time of 23:40, setting school records in the 4k and 6k distances and achieving the highest individual NCAA Midwest finish in school history during her career at UC.
Alaysia Brooks also wrapped up her collegiate career on a high note, placing 117th with a time of 23:54 her best finish at an NCAA regional.
Freshman
Katie Lane continued her consistent performances, finishing 152nd with a time of 24:49. Sophomore
Dominique Weisz showed considerable improvement, jumping 37 spots from last year's finish to place 165th in 25:23. Sophomore
Jocelyn Dornbirer also improved, placing 171st with a time of 25:40, a 14 second improvement from her run on the same course earlier this season. Senior
Emma Smith completed her cross-country career with her best NCAA Midwest finish, placing 175th in 25:53.
The Arrows' performance at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships shows the improvement of the program this season and looks to build momentum transition into the Indoor Track & Field season.
