The Ursuline College Athletic Department announces the addition of women's flag football to their intercollegiate athletic programs. Ursuline is the first four-year institution of higher learning in Ohio to be home to an intercollegiate women's flag football team.

Flag football is becoming one of the fastest growing high school sports for girls. Northeast Ohio Flag Football Incorporated, created by high school football coaches to teach basic football skills to youth in a fun, positive professional environment, along side the Cleveland Browns, has grown the sport to field 51 teams in the areas surrounding Ursuline's home in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
Â
The College will conduct a search for a head flag football coach this fall so it can begin the recruiting and team building process. Players will be on campus starting in Fall 2025 with the team being ready for competition for the Spring 2026 season. The addition of flag football brings Ursuline to 12 athletic programs, 11 of which compete in NCAA DII.
Â
"As a women's focused institution, we are extremely proud to be the first institution in the state of Ohio to provide this opportunity to young women looking to further their athletic careers in the sport of flag football" said Athletic Director, Cindy McKnight. "We are excited to foster the growth of this emerging sport and to enhance our student-athlete experience by adding to our diverse offering of athletics programs. We look forward to seeing additional institutions across the country follow suit."
The Arrows will conduct a search to hire a Head Flag Football Coach in the Fall of 2024 to begin the recruiting and building process. Follow along with ursulinearrows.com,
