The Ursuline College Track & Field team opened up their indoor season this weekend at the 11th Annual CWRU Alumni Holiday Classic. The team showed solid performances on both the track and field events.
On Saturday,
Dayahana Douglas placed 1st overall in the 60m dash final with a time of 7.89, after running 7.88 in the preliminary round.
Kennedy Outland won the 500m with a time of 1:24.58 in her first ever collegiate competition, while
Davinia Mireles-Sanchez finished 2nd with a time of 1:28.25.
Grace Toth secured 2nd place in the 1000m.
Breanna Banks placed 6th overall in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.72, her best time of the day, achieved in the preliminary round. The 4x400m relay team of
Angelys Caballero,
Kennedy Outland,
Coryasia Owens, and
Malicca Brown placed 4th overall.
Gisele Cabrera rounded out the day on the track with a 4th-place finish in the 3000m, clocking a time of 12:23.38.
In the field events,
Jasmine Jamison placed 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 11.76m, setting a personal best and moving to 5th all-time in program history.
Maggie Furst placed 8th in her collegiate debut with a throw of 10.03m, advancing to the finals.
Kayla Kephart tied her personal best with a high jump of 1.55m, placing 6th overall.
Mya Knight also finished 6th in the long jump with a jump of 4.94m. In the weight throw,
Claryssa Panayotti recorded a mark of 12.55m,
Meghan Hodges threw 12.32m, and Jamison achieved 11.88m in her first ever weight throw competition.
The Arrows will return to competition next week at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY for the 2024 Wagner Seahawk Shootout on Friday, December 13th.
