The Ursuline College Track & Field had multiple event winners and personal best times at the SPIRE Collegiate Invitational on Friday.
Alaysia Brooks won the 400 meters dash in 57.34, which is 0.31 off the NCAA DII provisional standard to get on the list for nationals. Brooks had a personal best time with that performance and moves up to 4th all-time in school history.Â
A'Zaria Thomas won the 800 meters in 2:16.86 in a personal best time. Thomas improved her 3rd all-time performance in school history from last year's G-MAC Championships from 2:18.99 (converted track size) to 2:16.86.Â
Emma Esteves won the 3000 meters in 10:20.88 in a personal best time. Esteves moves to 2nd all-time in school history and was seconds off the school record in the event.Â
The 4x400 meter relay team of
Ciani Kensey, Brooks, Thomas andÂ
Breanna Banks won the event in a time of 4:05.78.Â
In the field events,
Kayla Childs placed 3rd overall in 1.45m and
Jennifer Beverly place 5th overall in the high jump. Childs placed 5th overall in the long jump as well.
Jasmine Jamison placed 4th overall in the shot put.Â
Several Arrows finished with personal best times on the day including Banks' personal best in the 400m with 1:03.68. Kensey had a personal best as well in the 400m in 1:04.33.
Emma Smith had a huge personal best in the 3000 meters in 11:39.69, placing 6th overall. Smith improved her time by over a minute in the event.Â
The Arrows return to action at the Ashland University Jud Logan Light Giver Open on February 3-4th.Â
