Ursuline College Track & Field opened the 2022-2023 Indoor season at the Tiffin Revolution Open on Friday evening.
Jae'Anna Hughes led the way with a 4th place finish in the 60m dash. Hughes ran her best mark with a time of 7.97 in the preliminary rounds to advance to the finals. Hughes continued her good day in the finals with a 7.99 in her first collegiate indoor track & field meet. Hughes followed up her 60m performance with a 10th place performance in the 200m dash, finishing in a time of 27.61 (converted to 27.19 track size).
Breanna Banks placed 16th overall with a time of 28.39 (converted to 27.96) and
Arianah Whittsette had a good showing with 29.19 (converted to 28.75) in her first collegiate track & field meet. Banks competed in the 400m dash with a time of 1:06.75 (converted to 1:05.88) to place 16th overall to conclude the performances around the track.Â
In the field events,
Jasmine Jamison led the way with a personal best of 10.90m in the shot put. This placed her 10th overall in her first collegiate indoor track & field meet.Â
Meghan Hodges had a personal best performance in the weight throw of 12.24m to place 18th overall. This was a huge improvement from her previous best of 11.72m.
Rounding out the Arrows' performances on the day in the field were
Arianna Wallace with 11.51m,
Miranda Mowrey with 10.08m and
Kelsey Reigle with 9.09m. All finishes were personal best performances for the three Arrows in the weight throw. The duo of
Kayla Childs and
Jennifer Beverly had a good season opener in the high jump placing 10th and 11th overall with 1.42m.
The Arrows will return back to competition in 2023, when they compete at SPIRE Midwest Open on January 21.Â
