The Ursuline College volleyball team dropped a hard fought match 3-1 to the visiting Trevecca Nazarene Trojans on Friday night to open G-MAC play.
The Arrows (8-6) fell behidn 4-0 in the first set before rallying to tie the match 5-5 after a kill by senior
Emily Adkinson. The Trojans built the lead up once again to 12-8 before another Ursuline rally closed the gap to 13-11. Trevecca went onto to win the first set 25-20.
Ursuline used a quick start in the second set to take a 3-1 lead and extended it 5-2 before Trevecca rallied to pull within 6-5. The rest of the set played out back and forth before the Arrows were able to build a 24-22 lead but could not close out the Trojans as they tied the match 24-24. Ursuline responded by building a 28-27 lead and finished off the set on a kill by senior
Makayla Windau to take the set 29-27.
Trevecca took the third set 25-15 to take a 2-1 lead in the match. The fourth set was once again back-and-forth before the Trojans came from behind again to take the match 26-24.
Ursuline was led by Adkinson who finished with 12 kills and Henderson who added 11. Senior
Makayla Windau finished with 10 kills. Adkinson also added eight blocks.
The Arrows will play Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday at home as they continue conference play at 1:00pm.
