The Ursuline College volleyball team improved to 7-2 on the season with a straight set road win over West Virginia State on Wednesday evening.
The Arrows and Yellow Jackets traded points early on in the first set before the Arrows built an 8-5 lead. Ursuline took the first set 25-18.
In the second set, the two teams were tied 6-6 before Ursuline took control of the match by taking a 15-9 advantage. The Arrows went onto win the second set 25-13
West Virginia State took an early lead in third set as they tried to force a fourth set. The Arrows responded by breaking a 12-12 tie to take a 15-12 lead. The Arrows won the third and final set 25-15.
Senior
Emily Adkinson finished with a match-high 13 kills while fellow senior
Makayla Windau and freshman
Victoria Henderson each had seven. Adkinson added two blocks. Sophomore
Katelyn Selleny finished with 18 assists and sophomore
Kassidy Stilwell had 15 digs.
Ursuline will return home on Friday when they will host Gannon at Noon. The Arrows will play The University of Charleston at 6pm on Friday evening as part of the Notre Dame/Ursuline tournament.
