Because of inclement weather a few weeks back, Cedarville came to Pepper Pike for two games on Tuesday and won game one 14-0 in five innings before taking the second game by a score of 5-1.
Ursuline traveled down to Cedarville for a game on Wednesday that the Yellow Jackets ultimately won, 7-1.
The Arrows are now 7-19 overall and 0-14 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference while Cedarville improved to 22-17 and 10-4 in conference play.
Offensively, sophomore Brigitte Snow led the charge. The outfielder hit .625 (5-8) with three doubles in the three games. Sophomore catcher Kaitlin Krajcik was 2-4 with three walks and she scored both of UC's runs. She is hitting .424 (14-33) in UC's 14 conference games.
Junior second baseman Alison Porter also had a nice series with three hits in eight at-bats (.375) including her team-best seventh double of the year.
Freshman pitcher Gina Rosshirt (1-11) took the loss in all three games but she was the victim of some bad defense. Eight of the 19 runs she allowed were unearned as the Arrows made 11 errors in the three games. Cedarville had just one defensive miscue in the series.
The Arrows have eight regular season games remaining - all of which will be played at home. UC will welcome
Salem International University to town this weekend for a three game series that begins with a doubleheader on Friday (April 17) and wraps up with a noon game on Saturday (April 18).
All three games can be heard on the
Ursuline College Sports Network.
