Because the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic is a neutral site tournament, official game files are not yet available. Here is what we know based on the postgame report from the UC coaching staff:
After trailing 1-0, the Arrows exploded for three runs in the sixth to jump in front for good. Junior Alison Porter singled and then moved up a base on a sacrifice bunt by sophomore Brigitte Snow. Porter then stole third and the catcher's throw sailed into left field which allowed Porter to come home and tie the game.
Sophomore Brittany Humbel, who was brilliant in the circle, helped her own cause with her work at the plate. She singled and scored on an RBI double by freshman Leah Leshnack. Leshnack then scored an insurance run thanks to an RBI single off the bat of sophomore Carly Hoffner.
Hoffner, Leshnack and freshman B.J. Thomas all collected their first collegiate hits on Sunday.
Humbel pitched all seven innings and was masterful. She allowed just six hits and recorded four strikeouts while holding the Bobcats to just the one earned run.
The Arrows will be busy on Monday (March 9) with three games on the docket. Ursuline plays Seton Hill University at 9:30 a.m., Roosevelt University at 1:30 p.m. and closes the day with Penn State University-Altoona at 3:30 p.m.
Again, there is no host institution this week so box scores may be slow to trickle in but we will keep you posted on results as best we can through our social media platforms.
