Ursuline drops doubleheader at Oberlin

Ursuline College dropped both games of a doubleheader to Oberlin College on the road, 12-3 and 7-4. The games were originally schedule for Saturday afternoon at home, but due to expected rain over the weekend, the games were moved to Oberlin and bumped up a day.

In game one, the Arrows took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a RBI-ground out by Natalie Huggins, which scored Megan Passwaiter, who doubled earlier in the inning. However, Oberlin didn't waste much time claiming the lead with three runs in the bottom of the first on four hits.

Ursuline tied the game with a run in the third and another run in the fourth inning. Passwaiter scored again, this time on a RBI-single by Miranda Boggs in the third. In the fourth, Laura Grana's two-out single scored the tying run.

Oberlin responded with back-to-back big innings, scoring five times in the fifth and four more in the sixth to end the game after six innings.

In game two, both teams scored a single run in the first and another run in the third. With the game tied 2-2, Oberlin scored five runs in the sixth. They were able to hold on to that lead, despite Ursuline scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth.

Passwaiter went 3-4 in game two, scoring once and driving in another. Sam Roberts went 2-4 with a run scored.

Ursuline will return to action this week with three doubleheaders, starting on Tuesday at Notre Dame College, then Thursday at Baldwin Wallace, before coming home on Friday to play two against La Roche College.
