The Ursuline College Track & Field team finished in the top five in several events at the Slippery Rock University - Dave Labor Invitational this past weekend.
Freshman, Savannah Gyasi-Nimako lead the way with a win in the triple jump with a school record jump of 11.64m, a record previously held by Sugar Henry. Gyasi-Nimako placed 4th in the long jump with a jump of 5.49m, moving her to 4th all-time in school history. Gyasi-Nimako is currently ranked 1st in the G-MAC and 2nd in the Midwest region in the triple jump.
Alaysia Brooks won the 800m by 8 seconds in a time of 2:11.54 in an NCAA provisional mark. Brooks currently ranks 21st in the NCAA and 6th in the Midwest region in the event.
A'Zaria Thomas won the in 1500m in 4:49.79, which is her fastest season opener in the event and finished 5th in the 800m with a time of 2:21.08.
Emma Esteves placed 3rd overall in the 5k with a time of 18:02.90, which is her fastest season opener in the event.
Arianna Wallace placed 4th overall in the discus throw in a personal best 38.64m, securing the second all-time program history mark. Wallace had a personal best in hammer with 39.24m, which moves her to 5th all time in the event.
Another notable performance by the Arrows this weekend was Breanna Banks 6th palce finish in the 400m with a time of 1:08.38. Karrington Green placed 11th overall in the 100m with a time of 16.18. Kayla Kephart placed 14th in the HJ with a jump of 1.45m.
The Arrows will travel to Mount Union this Friday and Saturday, April 12-13th for the 2024 John Homon Open.
