The Ursuline College Track & Field team traveled to Pittsburg, KS with junior,
Alaysia Brooks, this past weekend to compete in the NCAA Championships. Alaysia was ranked #1 in the nation in the 800M prior to the weekend and held true to her rankings all weekend.

In Friday's preliminary rounds, Alaysia competed in the third heat. She blew the competition out of the water and ran an Ursuline program record setting performance of 2:05.66 to lead going into the finals.

On Saturday, Alaysia raced in the 800M finals. Taking the lead from the start, Alaysia held a significant distance between her and her fellow competitors. Brooks finished first overall in 2:06.97 to be titled the NCAA 800M Champion.

With the entire Ursuline community cheering her on, Alaysia takes home the All-American title and NCAA Championship trophy.
