Ursuline College Track & Field had a busy weekend competing at Kent State University-Doug Raymond and the University of Michigan Invitational.
On Friday at Kent State,
Savahnna Gyasi-Nimako led the way with a 5th place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.37m.
Mya Knight finished 6th overall in the event with a personal best and 4th all-time in program history with a mark of 5.27m.
Kayla Kephart placed 10th overall with a jump of 1.55m to move her into a three way tie for 3rd all-time in program history.
Arianna Wallace had a personal best in the weight throw in a throw of 12.79 to move her into 4th all-time in program history.
Malicca Brown had a season best in the long jump with a mark of 4.85m.
On Saturday,
Alaysia Brooks placed 5th overall at the University of Michigan Invitational in the 800m race. Brooks hit the NCAA provisional mark with her time of 2:11.15 and currently ranks 5th in the country in the event. She was the first NCAA DII athlete to finish in the race in a highly competitive NCAA DI field of runners.
Emma Esteves had a good showing in the 3,000 meters in a time of 10:28.18 in Michigan.
Gyasi-Nimako continued her success in the field events on Saturday at Kent State with a 4th place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 11.05m.
Jasmine Jamison had a season best of 11.06m in the shot put.
On the track,
Jocelyn Dornbirer placed 7th overall in the mile run with a time of 5:16.96. Dornbirer moves into 4th all-time in program history in the event.
The Arrows will be back in competition this Friday and Saturday at Ashland University in the Jud Logan Light Giver Open.
