Track & Field Highlights From GMAC Championships

The Ursuline College track & field team competed in the GMAC Outdoor Track & Field Conference Championships this week in Owensboro, KY.

The 4x100M relay team of Jea'Anna Hughes, Dayahana Douglas, Kayla Childs, Autumn Burgess placed 4th overall in a season best time of 48.26. 

A'Zaria Thomas placed 9th overall in the 1500m final in 4:53.94. Thomas was the 12th and final qualifier to advance to the Friday final after the preliminary round in a time of 4:51.91. 

Dayahana Douglas and Autumn Burgess placed 7th and 8th in the 100m final with times of 12.33 and 12.52. Douglas had a personal best of 12.09 and Burgess saw her personal best as well of 12.17 in the preliminary rounds. Hughes placed 10th overall in a personal best time of 12.24 in the preliminary round of the 100m dash. Douglas moves to 5th all-time in school history with her 12.09 performance.

Burgess placed 2nd overall in the 200m dash final in a personal best of 24.92 to earn second team All-GMAC. Douglas placed 4th overall in 25.06. Douglas ran a personal best time of 24.86 in the 200m preliminary round. Douglas moves to 4th all-time and Burgess moves 5th all-time in school history in the 200m. 

Alaysia Brooks placed 6th in the 400m final with a time of 57.70.  Emma Esteves placed 9th overall in the 5000m final to improve her school record of 17:46.27. 

The 4x400m relay team of Ciani Kensey, Brooks, A'Zaria Thomas, Breanna Banks placed 4th overall with a time of 4:09.38.

In field events, Karla Hormazabal placed 3rd overall in the Triple Jump with a mark of 10.93m to earn third team all-GMAC. 

The Arrows had five additional personal best performances at the GMAC Championships as well. Meghan Hodges moved to 5th all-time with her mark of 38.53m in the hammer throw. Kelsey Reigle had personal best of 27.36m in the hammer thrower. Arianna Wallace moved to 5th all-time with her mark of 34.27m in the discus throw. Miranda Mowrey placed 12th overall in a personal best of 28.55m in the javelin throw. Emma Smith had a personal best time of 13:39.20 in the steeplechase and 22:31.30 in the 5000m. 

The Arrows placed 7th overall in the G-MAC championships with 34 total points in the meet. The team improved one spot from their 8th place finish from the Indoor Track & Field season and improved two spots from last year's 9th place finish at the Outdoor Track & Field championships. The team has one more meet at Baldwin Wallace Last Chance meet to close out the season on May 13th.
