The Ursuline College Track & Field team competed at the Dave Labor Invitational at Slippery Rock University on Saturday.
Alaysia Brooks led the way with a second overall finish in the 400m with a new personal best time of 59.34 for outdoor track. Brooks was a part of the second-place overall finish in the 4x400m relay team of
Ciani Kensey,
A'Zaria Thomas and
Breanna Banks with a time of 4:10.00.
A'Zaria Thomas placed third overall in the 800m dash with a new personal best of 2:20.07 for outdoor track. Thomas moved to fourth all-time in school history in the event.
Karla Hormazabal placed third overall in the triple jump with a mark of 10.59m. Hormazabal also finished eight in the high jump with a jump of 1.45m.
Jae'Anna Hughes had another solid performance in the 100m dash winning her heat and placing fifth overall with a time of 12.89.
Breanna Banks had a good debut in her first ever 400m hurdle race running a time of 1:12.43 placing 11th overall.
Emma Esteves placed tenth overall in a very competitive 1500m race. Esteves ran 4:57.18 and moved to second in all-time school history in the event. Esteves had a personal best in the 800m as well on the day with a time of 2:28.38.
The Arrows had multiple personal or season best performances on the day including
Emma Smith who ran a new personal best time in the 1500m with a time of 5:47.81.
Meghan Hodges had a good debut performance in the hammer throw with a mark of 38.03, just .39 off her personal best mark from last year.
Miranda Mowrey had a new personal best of 27.27m in the javelin as well as
Christina Scialabba with a mark of 23.21m and
Kayla Huffman with a mark of 20.23m.
Ursuline competes next on April 8th and 9th at the Mount Union John Homon Open.
