The Ursuline College track & field team competed in the Tiffin Track Carnival on Friday and Saturday where they had multiple top finishes.
Two school records for the Arrows highlighted the great weekend at the Tiffin Track Carnival. The relay team of
Breanna Banks, Jae'Ana Hughes,
Autumn Burgess and
Dayahana Douglas won the 4x200m with a school record of 1:43.69. The relay team received a Tiffin Track Carnival wheel plaque for winning the event.
The 4x800m relay team of
Alaysia Brooks,
Ciani Kensey,
Emma Esteves,
A'Zaria Thomas placed 2nd overall with a time of 9:36.89. The relay team broke the previous school record of 9:51.69 by 15 seconds that was set back in 2010.
The 4x100m relay team of Hughes, Burgess, Douglas, and
Kayla Childs posted a second place finish as well as a season-best time of 48.66 in Saturday's Gold-section.Â
On Friday, the Arrows had many personal best times on the day.
Alaysia Brooks placed 4th overall in the 400m with a personal best time of 58.14. Douglas finished 10th overall in the 100m dash in a season best of 12.28. Burgess and Hughes followed up with more personal bests in the 100m dash this weekend with 12.42 and 12.43 placing 14th and 15th overall in the meet.Â
Douglas had a 7th place finish in her season opener in the 200m dash with 25.49, which is an outdoor track personal best. Burgess had a huge personal best of 25.54 and placed 10th overall as well.Â
Karla Hormazabal placed 5th overall in the triple jump with a mark of 10.62.
Emma Smith had a personal best time in the 1500m with 5:42.12, which is a five second improvement.
Arianna Wallace had a season best in the discus throw with a mark of 31.80m.Â
The Arrows compete next at the Baldwin Wallace Track Meet on Saturday, April 23rd.Â
