T&F Competes at GMAC Conference Championships

The Ursuline College track & field team competed in the GMAC Conference Championships this weekend in Findlay, OH.

On Friday, Emma Esteves broke the school record in the 5,000m with a personal best time of 18:16.08 (converted to 18:07.73 for track size) and placed 7th overall. The distance medley relay team of A'zaria Thomas, Ciani Kensey, Alaysia Brooks and Emma Esteves improved their school record with 13:01.63 (converted to 12:53.35) and placed 7th overall as well. 

Burgess had a personal best in the preliminary round of the 60m with 7.97 and 200m with 26.00 (converted to 25.61).

Two Arrows advanced to the finals in their races on day one, Alaysia Brooks advanced to the 400m final with a time of 59.60 and Dayahana Douglas advanced to the 200m final with a time of 26.73. 

In the 200m final on Saturday, Dayahana Douglas placed 5th overall with a personal best of 25.69 (converted to 25.30). Douglas improved on her 5th all-time mark in school history.

Alaysia Brooks placed 7th overall in the 400m final with a personal best of 58.98 (converted to 58.21), moving her into 5th all-time in school history in the event. 

In the 800m final, A'Zaria Thomas placed 8th overall with a personal best time of 2:20.69 (converted to 2:18.99). Thomas moved into 3rd all-time in school history in the event. 

The 4x400m relay team of Alaysia Brooks, Dayahana Douglas, Autumn Burgess, A'Zaria Thomas placed 4th overall with a time of 4:09.33.

In field events, Karla Hormazabal placed 8th overall in the Triple Jump with a mark of 10.66 and Kayla Child tied her personal best with a 1.48m in the high jump.

The Arrows placed 8th overall in the G-MAC championships with 17 total points in the meet. This rounds out the Indoor Track & Field season for Ursuline. They open their outdoor season on March 19th at Mount Union.
