The Arrows faced Cedarville University in their Friday night match up and fell in three sets, 25-18, 25-22 and 25-19.
Set one held back and forth action with the game tied until 10-10. The Yellow Jackets pushed forward to gain a steady lead on the Arrows before finishing the set 25-18. Ursuline was led offensively by Kenna Casil's four kills and defensively by
Emily Holton's five digs.
In set two, the Arrows came out with a 5-2 lead before Cedarville picked up the fight. UC held onto the lead until the game was tied at 13-13. Cedarville went on a five point run to push them ahead and held on until they led 23-17. The Arrows rebutted with a five point run of their own to trail by just one point 23-22. Two kills by the Jackets sealed set two for them, 25-22.
CU and UC traded leads for the first 24 rallies of set one and remained tied at 12-12 until Cedarville started to build a lead. Despite their fight, the Arrows were unable to close the gap and fell 25-19.
The Arrows posted up 31 kills and 38 digs as a team while
Maggie Bradley tallied 28 assists.
The Arrows face off against Ohio Dominican on Saturday, October 8th at 2:00 pm.Â
