The Ursuline College basketball team held its second-straight opponent under 50-points and made 16 three-pointers in a 96-44 road win over Lake Erie College on Saturday afternoon. In the win, Arrows head coach
Shannon Sword notched her 100th career victory.
The Arrows offense jumped out to a 14-2 lead in the opening three-minutes of the game and did not look back. Junior
Ky Crevison started the scoring with one of her game-high five made three-pointers and followed it up with a layup to make it 5-0 early in the contest. Freshman
Emily Poling buried a three-pointer of her own to make it 8-2 and junior
Julia Cardwell finished a layup in transition and the Arrows were off and running.
Later in the first, Crevison hit another three-pointer to make it 22-9 and Ursuline eventually led 24-9 after one quarter. Ursuline was 8-for-18 in the opening quarter from the floor and 4-of-10 from behind-the-arc while Lake Erie shot just 3-of-14 from the floor and 0-for-5 from deep.
The defense held Lake Erie to 11 points in the second quarter as the Arrows built a 42-20 advantage at the break. It tied the second fewest points allowed in a half this season by Ursuline and marked the second game in a row that they allowed 20 points in a half.
Ursuline hit 7-of-9 from the three-point line in the fourth quarter as the lead continued to grow. In the final 10 minutes, the Arrows shot 50 percent (10-for-20) from the floor while the Storm went just 2-of-17.
Crevison finished with a game-high 21 points and also dished out seven assists and grabbed six rebounds. She also had a steal and a blocked shot. Freshman
Kaylin Burdick added 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting and 2-of-2 from deep in 14 minutes off the bench. Poling finished with 13 points and Cardwell added 12 points and seven boards. Freshman
Eileen Salisbury had nine points (3-of-5 from three-point line) while
Paige Salisbury had seven points, eight rebounds and six assists.
The 16 made three-pointers were the most in a game for Ursuline since March 2, 2017 when they made 16 against Davis & Elkins. The Arrows also hit 16 three-pointers against Lake Erie back in 2016.

The Arrows will head south this week as they take on Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday in Nashville and Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon in Owensboro.
