The Ursuline College volleyball team earned a hard fought come-from-behind road win on Tuesday night by defeating Kentucky Wesleyan 3-2 to even their Great Midwest record at 1-1.

Less than 24 hours after winning the first two sets against Trevecca, but falling in the match in five sets, Ursuline dropped the opening two sets at Kentucky Wesleyan.

The Panthers took the first set in convincing fashion 25-16 and held off the Arrows 26-24 in the third set.

Ursuline then responded with a rally of its own to win the third set 29-27 after successfully fending off three match points from Kentucky Wesleyan.

The Arrows continued the momentum into the fourth set and held of the Panthers 26-24 to force the fifth and deciding set.

Ursuline jumped out to a 6-3 lead before Kentucky Wesleyan tied the set at 6-6. The Panthers got within a point at 8-7 before the Arrows scored seven of the next eight points to complete the comeback.

The Arrows got contributions across the board from both the offense and defense. Junior
Vikki Henderson led the team in kills with 19 and added 17 digs for her fourth double-double performance this season. Junior Angie Zamora finished with 12 kills while fellow junior
Kylie Krnac added eight.

Nine different players registered at least one or more kills in the match for Ursuline.
Â
Defensively, Krnac also had five blocks while freshman
Faith Rico had three. Junior
Kassidy Stilwell finished with a career-best 26 digs and sophomore
Zoe Skinner added 18 while senior
Katelyn Selleny had 17.

Ursuline returns home on Friday night as they take on Walsh at 7:00pm.
