HOW IT HAPPENED
The Arrows and Chargers traded the lead back and forth in the first quarter before a layup from sophomore
Ky Crevison made it 14-9 with 3:22 to play. Junior
Paige Salisbury followed with a three-pointer to make it 17-11 and a free throw from sophomore
Morgan Mattimore gave the Arrows their largest lead of the game at 18-11.
Hillsdale answered the Ursuline run by closing the first quarter on a 7-0 run to tie the game 18-18 after one.
The Ursuline defense controlled the second quarter as they limited the Chargers to 11 points and just 5-for-20 from the floor and 1-for-7 from behind the arc to build a 34-29 lead.
The Arrows took a 73-57 lead with 6:16 to play sparked by an 11-2 run to start the final quarter, but the Chargers went on a furious run to close to within three at 82-79 with under a minute to play.
Mattimore, Lewis and Salisbury all hit clutch free throws down the stretch for the Arrows to help seal the win.
BALANCED ATTACK
Ursuline put five players in double-figures led by 21 points from Lewis who finished 8-for-17 from the floor and dished out six assists and grabbed five rebounds. Salisbury finished with 14 points while Mattimore added 13 and Crevison had 12 points on 4-fo-5 from the field and hit two big three-pointers.
Sophomore
Julia Cardwell added 11 points off the bench and was 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Senior
Camryn Hill finished with 9 points and had six rebounds.
MAKING THEM WHEN THEY COUNT
The Arrows were 21-28 from the free throw line in the game and went 10-for-14 from the line in the fourth quarter.
STILL STREAKING
Lewis made it 42 straight games straight with double-figure scoring after finishing with 21 points.
BACK AND FORTH
Hillsdale and Ursuline had seven different ties and eight lead changes in a game that went back and forth.
The Chargers largest lead was just two while the Arrows held a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter.
UP NEXT
Ursuline will travel to Findlay on Saturday to take on the Oilers who trails Ursuline by one game in the Great Midwest standings. The Arrows won the first meeting of the season 80-73 in Pepper Pike.
