Arrows Knock Off #25 Findlay to Take Over First Place in the G-MAC

HOW IT HAPPENED

The two remaining unbeaten teams in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference played each other evenly in the first ten minutes with the game being tied 23-23 after one quarter.

Ursuline shot 7-for-19 from the floor and went 4-for-11 in a fast paced opening frame while Findlay shot 9-for-20 from the field and went 3-for-5 from deep.

THE GAME TURNED WHEN

The Arrows offense caught fire in the second quarter led by senior Camryn Hill who finished the quarter with 12 points on 5-for-7 from the floor including 1-for-2 from behind-the-arc.

Ursuline's defense was equally as solid against one of the top offenses in the G-MAC holding them to just 11 points in the quarter on 5-for-13 from the floor and limited 1-for-6 from the arc.

Junior Paige Salisbury and sophomore Morgan Mattimore both had five points and were a combined perfect 4-for-4 from the field.

TRIPLE DOUBLE ALERT

Lewis nearly had a triple-double in the first half after notching nine rebounds and nine assists in the first 20 minutes of play.

She picked her second triple-double of the year in the third quarter when she scored her 14th point of the game to go along with 11 assists and 13 rebounds.

Lewis is one of only four players in the NCAA Division II with a triple double this season and she is the only player to have two.

PRODUCTION IN THE PAINT

Camryn Hill and Laney Lewis finished with a combined 52 points on 19-for-30 from the floor. The duo pulled down 24 rebounds, and blocked three shots.

The Arrows scored 22 points in the paint and had 19 second chance points after pulling down 13 offensive rebounds.

ANOTHER SOLID FREE THROW PERFORMANCE

Ursuline was 16-for-21 from the charity stripe in the game with five different players getting to the line.

The Arrows were 8-for-11 from the line in the fourth quarter with the game on the line.

TOP 25 WIN

Ursuline picked up their first win over a Top 25 program with the win tonight with Findlay being ranked #25 in the latest WBCA poll that was released yesterday.

BACK AT THE TOP

The Arrows reclaimed sole possession of first place in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference after the win over Findlay.

Ursuline has won the last two regular season championships and 33-3 against the rest of the conference since 2015-16.

STREAKS GALORE

Ursuline's win streak reached eight with the win over Findlay while the Oilers had their 12 game winning streak snapped.

Lewis has now scored double-digits in 32 straight games and has had six games of 20 or more points during that span.
