Cedarville buried a three-pointer to start the game and finished the opening 10 minutes 5-for-7 from deep to build a 21-16 lead after one.

After the opening three-pointer, Ursuline went on an 8-0 run sparked by a pair of jumpers from sophomore
Morgan Mattimore and a basket from junior
Paige Salisbury.

The final five minutes of the first quarter saw five different ties and several lead changes.

The defenses took over in the second quarter as the two teams combined to score just 20 points. Ursuline limited Cedarville to 3-for-15 from the field but the Arrows went just 5-for-18 and were 0-for-6 from deep in the quarter.

Cedarville held a 31-26 advantage at the break.

The Arrows offense got their rhythm back in the third quarter as they went 8-for-13 from the floor and outscored the Yellow Jackets 22-17 in the frame.

With the game tied 55-55 with 4:07 to play, senior
Laney Lewis hit a jumper to put the Arrows in front by a bucket but Cedarville tied the game back up at the free throw line on the next possession.

The Yellow Jackets took the final lead of the game 63-59 with :23 seconds remaining.

NEAR PERFECT FROM THE FIELD

Lewis missed just one shot from the field as she finished 12-for-13 from the floor and had a game-high 24 points to go along with six rebounds. She also blocked five shots and had three steals in her 40 minutes of work.

Lewis extended her double-digit scoring streak to 37 straight games in the loss.

Ursuline who entered the game shooting 36 percent from the three-point line on the season went just 5-for-30.

Ursuline had won four-straight games over Cedarville dating back to a 2016 loss in Pepper Pike.

Ursuline will be off until next Saturday when they travel to Lake Erie College to take on the Storm. The Arrows won the previous meeting back in December 70-58 in Pepper Pike.
