Malone and Ursuline both game out shooting lights out in the opening quarter as the Arrows built a 23-21 lead after one.

The two teams traded baskets and neither was able to build more than a two-point lead in the first 10 minutes.

The Arrows were 10-for-17 from the field in the first quarter while Malone was 7-for-12 and went 4-for-6 from behind the arc.

THE GAME CHANGED WHEN

Malone's defense stepped up and cooled down the Ursuline offense in the second quarter as the Pioneers outscored the Arrows 21-12 in the period to build a 42-33 lead at the break.

The nine-point deficit was the largest Ursuline has faced at the break since November 27 at Notre Dame College.

After Ursuline stepped up their defensive effort in the third quarter and limited Malone to just 10 points, Malone outscored Ursuline 21-11 in the final quarter after the Arrows trailed by three after three-quarters.

FRONT COURT PRODUCTION

Ursuline got a combined 32 points on 13-for-23 shooting from their senior front court combination of
Camryn Hill and
Laney Lewis.

Hill finished with 17 points while Lewis had 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while dishing out five assists and blocking three shots.

Malone outscored Ursuline in the paint 36-32 on the afternoon.

TOUGH STRETCH
Â
Ursuline is in the midst of a six-game stretch against the top half of the G-MAC. The Arrows are currently 2-2 during the last four games and play Ohio Dominican and Cedarville at home this week.

The Arrows are currently in a three-way tie for first-place in the Great Midwest with two losses as Findlay and Cedarville both have lost two games in league play.
