PREVIEW: Soccer travels to Ohio Dominican Thursday

The Ursuline College soccer team will travel to Columbus, Ohio on Thursday for its first Great Midwest match against Ohio Dominican University at 7:00 PM.
 
The Arrows are coming off a tough 2-1 road loss at Clarion on Sunday after opening the season with a tie against the University of Maine at Fort Kent and then defeated Lake Erie 2-0 in the conference opener.
 
The Panthers are off to a 3-2 start in 2017 including a 2-0 win over then ranked #11 Truman State. Ohio Dominican defeated Findlay 1-0 in their Great Midwest opener last Wednesday. On Sunday, the Panthers defeated Northwood 4-2.
 
Senior Ali Pavlik has been the leading force offensively through the first five matches for ODU. She has scored three goals on 18 shots and has totaled six points in 2017.
 
Through five matches, Ohio Dominican is outshooting its averaging 15.2 shots per game and have scores eight goals.
 
Ursuline comes into Thursday's match averaging two goals per game and have outshot the opposition 48-40 through three games.
 
Senior Steph Chlad leads the Arrows with two goals scored, both coming in the opener against Maine at Fort Kent while freshman Kara Martin has notched two assists in her first three collegiate games.
 
Thursday will mark the first meeting between the two schools since 2008 which was prior to either being a member of NCAA Division II.
 
Ursuline will travel to Findlay on Saturday for a match-up with the Oilers that starts at 1pm.
