Pepper Pike, OH--The Ursuline College soccer team fell to Ashland University, 8-0, in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play Saturday.
Ashland (4-1-1, 2-0-0 G-MAC) took control early, scoring twice in the opening half in the 17th and 24th minutes to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
The Eagles continued to build on their advantage after the break, adding six goals in the second half to secure the shutout victory.
Ashland's defense held the Arrows (1-3-0, 0-2-0 G-MAC) without a shot throughout the match. The Eagles recorded 27 shots, including 13 on goal, while also holding a 13-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Up next: The Arrows return to action next Tuesday, traveling to California, Pennsylvania, to face California University of Pennsylvania in G-MAC action. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
