The Ursuline College basketball team earned its fifth straight conference win on Tuesday afternoon on the road by defeating Trevecca Nazarene 76-69 to improve to 8-3 on the season.
Getting off to a Good Start
After the offense struggled in the first half on Saturday against Alderson Broaddus, the Arrows got off to a much better start in Nashville.
The Arrows built a 7-3 lead early behind a layup from junior
Paige Salisbury and sophomore
Carly Koncz knocked down a triple to make it 14-7 with just under four minutes to play in the opening quarter.
Salisbury struck again with under three minutes to play in the first quarter by hitting a three-pointer of her own to extend the lead to 19-10 and senior
Camryn Hill connected from deep to make it 22-10 just moments later.
Ursuline closed the first quarter with a 26-15 advantage.

Offensive Flow
The offense continued to shoot the ball well in the second quarter after going 11-for-20 from the field and 4-for-7 from the arc in the first quarter.
The Arrows were 6-for-11 from the field in the fourth quarter but Trevecca outscored Ursuline 19-14 in the frame to close the halftime cap to 40-32.
Ursuline had 10 assists on their 17 first half baskets and shot 55 percent from the floor in the opening half.

Closing the Gap
Koncz hit her third three-pointer of the game with 5:41 remaining in the third quarter to build the Arrows lead to 50-41 but Trevecca got back-to-back three-pointers of its own to quickly pull within three in the later moments of the third quarter.

Ky Crevison hit a three-pointer to push the Arrows lead back to 53-49 with 1:25 remaining in the third
Clutch from the Line
For the second straight game, Ursuline's clutch free throw shooting in the fourth quarter helped seal their fifth G-MAC win of the season.
After going 8-for-10 on Saturday from the free throw line in the final quarter, Ursuline was 5-for-6 from the line in the final quarter on Tuesday. The Arrows were 8-for-12 on the afternoon from the line

Another near Triple Double
Senior
Laney Lewis narrowly missed her second triple-double of the season as she picked up her 39
th career double-double and is now one-round shy of tying the all-time record for rebounds in a career at Ursuline.
Three times this season Lewis has missed a triple-double by two or less assists and is one of only four players in NCAA Division II to register a triple-double this season.
Don't Want to See December Go
Ursuline improved to 5-0 in the month of December and is 14-3 since the 2015-16 season in the final month of the year.
The Arrows will host one more game in December on the 30
th against Kentucky Wesleyan.
Turning the Tides
The Arrows are now 6-7 all-time against Trevecca and have won six straight meetings after the Trojans won the first seven meetings between the two schools.
