The Ursuline College basketball team picked up their first road win of the season with an 80-71 win over Saginaw Valley State University on Saturday afternoon in University Center Michigan.

Ursuline ran out quickly in the first quarter after sophomore
Carly Koncz hit a three-pointer and scored the first five points for the Arrows as they built a 14-8 advantage in the early goings of the game.

Ky Crevison connected from deep to help the Arrows build a 19-10 lead after one.

Saginaw answered back by outscoring Ursuline 22-18 in the second quarter to make it a 37-32 game at the half.

Record Setting Day

All three Ursuline seniors had record-setting performances on Saturday afternoon.

Camille Gist scored a career-high 27 points for her second-straight 20-plus point scoring game to lead the Arrows.

Laney Lewis after narrowly missing a triple-double on Tuesday against West Liberty recorded the program's first-ever triple-double after scoring 15 points, dishing out 11 assists and pulling down 20 rebounds.

It was the fourth game of her career having 20 or more rebounds.

Camryn Hill became the seventh player in program history to score over 1,000 career points. Hill connected on a pair of free throws with 2:11 left in the game to help build the Ursuline lead to surpass the 1,000-point mark in her career.

Hill scored 1,000 points in 92 games and finished the afternoon with 20 points and nine rebounds.

Clutch Down the Stretch

After building a double-digit lead late in the third quarter, Saginaw Valley battled back to take a 63-62 lead with just under six minutes to play. Lewis answered back quickly with a layup to give Ursuline the lead back.

Lewis and Hill combined to go 4-for-4 over the next two minutes from the free throw line to help extend the Arrows lead. Hill finished 10-for-10 from the charity stripe while Lewis was 7-for-9 from the line. Ursuline as a team went 19-for-23 from the free throw line in the game.Â

Ursuline will remain on the road on Wednesday as they travel to Mercyhurst.
